Pimms & Petanque

Pimms & Petanque Lodsworth Village HallOur Petanque Pitch is finally ready to play – After a wonderful gesture from the village fete of a donation to build a Petanque Pitch on the Rec for all to use, we are ready. It has taken time to perfect the playing surface and manage the levels on a very undulating field.

Join us on Sunday 25th August from 4pm to have a go and enjoy a free pimms on us. (A pay bar is also available) – a gentle afternoon of a few games a getogether and a drink in the last of the summer sun.

Finding the Empire Windrush – Talk

POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

 

A facinating evening hosted by one of the world’s most experienced shipwreck hunters. Local Lodsworth resident David Mearns give us a glimpse of his incredible career hunting some of the most famous shipwrecks and most recently discovering the Empire Windrush – which sank in the Mediterranean back in 1954. The vessel caught fire and sank with a cargo of the first large groups pf post-war West Indian immigrants bound for the United Kingdom.

The evening will be a discovery talk with plenty of oppertunity to ask questions and quiz the man himself on his career.

Tickets £20 including canapes and there will be a bar available throughout.
