A group of young performers from the Glyndebourne Symphonia will be visiting Lodsworth to perform at The Village Hall a selection of music from their extensive repertoire! Make sure you book early for this exciting event, tickets £12.00

The players participate on an equal footing with regular players in the Orchestra and are paid for their participation. We offer places to selected instrumentalists each year depending on our repertoire and which positions are available. The programme, now entering its sixth year, extends Glyndebourne’s cornerstone commitment to nurturing young talent from all backgrounds. No other programme in the country offers newly graduated players real-world professional work experience over a concentrated period by putting them straight in at the deep end – the fastest way to learn.

Lodsworth Bonfire Night – 2024

November 9th From 6pm

Lodsworth Bonfire Night is a family friendly evening. If you are after a November 5th without the crowds, the fighting for parking but with the all the usual fun & entertainments then bring the little ones along and enjoy a freshly cooked BBQ feast or a Hot Chocolate with marshmallows to warm the hands and tummy while you watch our fireworks display.

• We have our Tiki Bar set up selling local beer and more importantly warming mulled wine.
• A roaring BBQ selling organic burgers and sausages and of course veggie options
• A Guy Fawkes competition
• A bonfire where our winning guy will be burned
• A fireworks display
• A raffle

What more could you want – apart from the weather. However even that doesn’t stop the evening – as you can see below a nice early start too for the little ones……

Yes its the night you have all been waiting for – The UK’s Official NO.1 Elton John tribute is coming to Lodsworth Village Hall in November 2024.

We bring a funfilled night with all of the classics – a full and emersive show of 1.5hrs,

‘The Elton John Experience’ is the only Elton John Tribute Band in Europe performing live alongside authentic pre-recorded real life Orchestra, Horn section, Brass Ensemble and Percussion clicks, fused together with an exciting show, to give that genuine full experience of actually what is on the famous songs, brought to life with full incredible dynamic sound in a electricfying, stunning live performance on stage!

Our Petanque Pitch is finally ready to play – After a wonderful gesture from the village fete of a donation to build a Petanque Pitch on the Rec for all to use, we are ready. It has taken time to perfect the playing surface and manage the levels on a very undulating field.

Join us on Sunday 25th August from 4pm to have a go and enjoy a free pimms on us. (A pay bar is also available) – a gentle afternoon of a few games a getogether and a drink in the last of the summer sun.

POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

A facinating evening hosted by one of the world’s most experienced shipwreck hunters. Local Lodsworth resident David Mearns give us a glimpse of his incredible career hunting some of the most famous shipwrecks and most recently discovering the Empire Windrush – which sank in the Mediterranean back in 1954. The vessel caught fire and sank with a cargo of the first large groups pf post-war West Indian immigrants bound for the United Kingdom.

The evening will be a discovery talk with plenty of oppertunity to ask questions and quiz the man himself on his career.

Tickets £20 including canapes and there will be a bar available throughout.
